The Wood Family Charitable Trust

Making a positive difference

Supporting people, communities and causes across Scotland, the UK and internationally.

Established in late 2024, the Trust provides targeted funding to organisations that deliver measurable, lasting benefits.

  • Practical support for communities and families
  • Funding for health, research and education
  • Protecting wildlife and the natural environment

We prioritise projects with clear objectives, strong governance and demonstrable impact.

Who we are

The Wood Family Charitable Trust was founded by Barry and Denise Wood, together with their two sons, Tony and Colin, and their families, to formalise and continue a long-standing commitment to giving back.

In 1980, Barry founded an IT business, Turnkey Computer Technology Ltd, with a focus on supporting local businesses across Scotland. The business expanded over time, with significant growth following the development of a specialist case management system for insolvency practitioners. Built and grown as a family-backed business, Turnkey went on to support clients across the UK and beyond.

In 2024, a majority stake in the business was sold to Bowmark Capital to enable the next phase of international growth. While this marked an important milestone for the company, the family’s commitment to supporting charitable causes remained unchanged.

Having supported a wide range of charities and good causes over many years, the family established The Wood Family Charitable Trust to ensure this support could continue in a structured, thoughtful, and lasting way — reflecting the values that have guided them for over 40 years.

Our Purpose

The Trust exists to provide financial support to charities and community initiatives working in areas where help is most needed.

  • Support causes that improve health, wellbeing, and quality of life
  • Help organisations tackling serious illness and long-term conditions
  • Contribute to the protection of wildlife and the natural environment
  • Support education and opportunity in underserved communities
  • Back work with clear, measurable impact

While our roots are in Scotland, our support extends across the UK and internationally where we believe funding can make a genuine difference.
