Developing Young People in Scotland

This is our main UK programme to which we anticipate allocating 25% of our overall fund. The Wood Family Trust’s focus in the UK is to invest in the future of Scotland by ensuring we have a nation of enterprising young people who have an understanding of citizenship values and the role they can play regionally, nationally, and internationally.  

We will invest in three specific areas;

• Promoting Positive Destinations into employment, education and training
• Enhancing Enterprise Education and Business Start Ups
• Promoting Citizenship, Global Citizenship and Tolerance

Our approach is to support strategic partners who can demonstrate their ability to deliver projects to scale and operate within our guiding principles, alongside programmes operationally managed the Wood Family Trust. Increasingly we are engaging with projects which are designed and delivered through the Scottish education system.

Our programme activity is identified on a proactive basis, however WFT will accept applications from individuals and groups, local to the North East of Scotland, who are undertaking an overseas volunteering opportunity.
